New partnership for California’s oldest trail marathon will place brand’s dependable fuel sources on the course
AVALON, Calif. – A new sponsor has signed on to support the 2023 Hi-Tec Run Catalina series Catalina Island Marathon. SFuels will provide fueling electrolyte drinks at all of the water stations on the marathon route, as well as the 10K course and finish line. SFuels LIFE bars will also be available at packet pick up, and SFuels Keto3 breakfast cereal and LIFE Bars on race morning at the pier. The race is nearly sold out, but interested runners can claim the final remaining bibs by registering online.
Participants must travel to the start via boat, departing at 5 a.m. to reach the other side of the island. This year, SFuels will be providing their cereal products for breakfast as the runners board the boat, allowing them a chance to fuel up on the ride before they begin their journey back across the island on foot.
“We have used various products on the courses for Run Catalina, but this will be the first time that a partner can deliver a complete meal and nutrition program to our runners, from packet pick up, to the morning boat, to refueling on the course.” said Mike Bone, President and CEO of Spectrum Sports Management, which produces the Run Catalina series. “SFuels will help us deliver an essential element of our runner experience by placing solid nutrition throughout the course.”
“The Catalina Island Marathon is one of the most unique trail races in the country, and this special setting and experience deserves a special fueling program that really delivers,” said Leighton Phillips, owner and developer of SFuels. “We’re proud to partner with Run Catalina to ensure their runners have a great race day from start to epic finish!”
The Catalina Island Marathon which will take place on Mar. 11. The 26.2-mile trail race is California’s oldest trail marathon and will celebrate its 46th anniversary this year. Registration is now open with 10K and 5K distances available alongside the classic marathon.
