Akron, OH (Aug. 12, 2023) — Nearly 2,200 athletes came together at Goodyear’s Akron Proving Grounds Test Track for the second race in the 9th annual Akron Marathon Race Series presented by Summa Health on Sat., Aug. 12, 2023, beginning at 6:30 a.m.
Dylan Garritano and Joanna Line were the Goodyear Half Marathon men’s and women’s division winners, finishing at 1:11:36 and 1:23:25. The men’s 10k winner, Ryan Grotenrath, finished with a time of 32:31, and the women’s 10k winner, Andrea Klima, finished with a time of 37:19.
Tim Bowman from Beckley, WV set a new record in the master’s division of the Half Marathon, finishing with a time of 1:18:49. The previous record was held by Damon Blackford with a time of 1:19:46.
The Goodyear Half Marathon & 10k welcomed participants from ages 4 to 79, from 29 states and 2 countries—all celebrating in Goodyear’s 125th anniversary year.
