USA Today includes Boulderthon on two of their annual Best10 lists
BOULDER, Colo. — USA TODAY has named Boulderthon’s 5K the #5th best in the country, while simultaneously announcing its Half Marathon as the #8th best in the US, in its 2024 10Best Readers’ Choice awards. The lists are curated by USA Today 10Best editors reviewing thousands of races across the country, narrowing it down to the top 20 in each category by a panel of expert runners, and then voted on by readers to determine the winners.

The 4th annual Boulderthon race series is taking place on Sept. 29, and will feature a marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K and Kids Run. The marathon and half marathon will once again have their start and finish lines located in downtown Boulder. Along the course, participants will enjoy spectacular, panoramic views of the Flatirons, while taking in beautiful vantage points of the Boulder Reservoir, Table Mountain and Haystack Mountain along their way. The course features relatively limited elevation change (384 feet for the half marathon, and 982 feet for the full) and multiple straightaways, making for high-quality race day performances. The nearly flat 10K course will run participants through the streets of Boulder showcasing the scenic town, before leading them to Downtown Boulder for the iconic finish on the historic Pearl Street Mall. Boulderthon will also be debuting a new 5K fast, flat all-roads course at the 2024 event, additional information on the new course will be released soon.
The top-rated, fast-growing race series became the second-largest marathon series in Colorado in its first year of existence, and the largest fall running event in the state. In its second annual edition, Boulderthon drew runners from all 50 states as well as 18 countries, as the signature marathon showcased the world-class city of Boulder. In 2023, Active.com named Boulderthon one of the Top 5 Best Half Marathons.
