October 30, 2021 – VIRGINA BEACH, VIRGINIA –  J&A Racing welcomed thousands of costumed runners to the Virginia Beach oceanfront for the 13th running of the Old Point National Bank Wicked 10K and Monster Mile presented by Bon Secours In Motion.

“There is nothing quite like seeing thousands of costumed runners on Halloween Weekend flooding the streets of Virginia Beach at the Old Point National Bank Wicked 10K,” said Amy Frostick, J&A Racing co-owner.  “Each year we are blown away with the creativity that we see from our race participants, not to mention their dedication to completing a 10K while in costume!  It really is a guaranteed fun way to get excited for Halloween!”

Participants were treated to a festive course that had tricks and treats all along the route including a Zombie Zone, Trick-or-Treat Stop and Thriller Dancers welcoming runners to a boardwalk finish.  After receiving their finisher swag, participants were greeted by The Deloreans at a post-race costume beach party with Blue Moon Beer, Angry Orchard Hard Cider, White Claw Hard Seltzer and soup from The Neighborhood Harvest.  The creativity of the costumes was also recognized with the Costume Contest, which awarded various prizes to a variety of categories.

“This was my first Wicked 10K, and it was fantastic!  The course was amazing- the thriller dancers, the zombie zone- all of it was incredible,” said Brynn Churchfield of Denver, Colorado.  “And the post-race beach party was amazing!  Celebrating with friends on the beach, with great music and beer is really hard to beat.  I will definitely be back next year!”

Unique this year, both the top overall finisher and top female finisher are husband and wife and both set Personal Records.  Harrison Toney of Richmond, Virginia, won the Old Point National Bank Wicked 10K with a finish time of 30:49 which is also a new course record.
