CLEVELAND – (Nov. 30, 2021) – In conjunction with Giving Tuesday, the Union Home Mortgage (UHM) Cleveland Marathon today announced plans to raise at least $300,000 for local charities during its 2022 events. To date, approximately $2,000 has been raised.
“There is so much to be thankful for this year,” said Ralph Staph, Race Director. “While the race is still six months away, planning never stops. We’re proud to help raise donations for these local charities and help those most in need right here in our community.”
Since the inception of the race in 1978, more than $3 million has been raised for a variety of local causes. The Race it Forward Charity Program allows organizations of all sizes and interests to raise funds in an exciting way. The marathon team provides charities with the tools and knowledge they need to create a fundraising vehicle around the Union Home Mortgage Cleveland Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k and 5k. All charities are welcome to participate. The most recent event, held earlier this fall, raised more than $200,000.
